Prices & Buying by Metal Content

The price of Molybdenum is subject to fluctuations on international commodity exchanges. Since residues are rarely in absolutely pure form, we do not calculate the purchase price as a flat rate, but on the basis of the net metal content determined precisely through lab analysis.

Material Category Indicative Price / Price Range
Solid molybdenum scrap (sheets, crucibles, tubes) 25,00 € – 50,00 €
Molybdenum rods 25,00 € – 45,00 €
Molybdenum wire (used / new windings) 30,00 € – 55,00 €
Production residues & molybdenum scrap 16,00 € – 35,00 €
TZM alloy scrap (high-temperature components) individual assessment

The purchase prices shown are indicative only. The actual purchase price depends on purity, metal content, analysis, material form, quantity, and current market conditions. After the goods are received, we provide a free valuation and an individual offer.

What Determines the Purchase Price for Molybdenum?

▸ Net Metal Content

The higher the percentage of pure Molybdenum, the lower the deductions for smelting and refining.

▸ Impurities

Accompanying metals are valued metallurgically; interfering elements increase processing costs.

▸ Moisture & Organics

For sludges, the loss on ignition (share of water, oils, emulsions) determines the real dry weight.

▸ Batch Size (Quantity)

Larger quantities reduce the per-kilogram share of sampling and lab analysis costs.

▸ Market Conditions

The current world market price forms the basis of our calculation.

Precise Analysis = Maximum Payout

We determine the value of your batch using accredited lab methods: XRF, ICP-OES, and ICP-MS. Every complex batch receives a detailed lab report.

Molybdenum Recycling & Raw Material Cycle

Molybdenum is classified by the European Commission as a critical raw material. Recycling {name} residues closes material cycles, drastically reduces the CO₂ footprint of your production, and secures European companies' access to secondary raw materials. By selling your residues, you contribute to the circular economy.

Strategic Recycling Consulting for Industry, Production, and Waste Management

We don't just buy your material — we optimize your internal processes. Many industrial companies give away real money because they don't know the value of their production waste, or because valuable materials get lost in the disposal mix.

SYPRA supports industrial companies, recyclers, primary treatment facilities, and metal traders with:

  • the systematic identification of hidden metal reserves in your waste and residue streams
  • developing concepts for separate collection directly at your production lines (decentralized extraction systems for powders, separation of coolant and turnings)
  • organizing independent umpire analyses (Schiedsanalysen) and metallurgical expert reports
  • planning complex B2B recycling projects for rare metals to optimize your raw material flows

Frequently Asked Questions About Molybdenum

How is the price for Molybdenum determined? +
The price is based on the exact net metal content determined through lab analysis. We pay for the pure metal share according to current market prices, less processing costs.
Do you buy contaminated turnings or sludges? +
Yes. We buy powders, turnings, sludges, furnace linings, and alloys. Settlement is based on representative sampling, drying, and determination of the metal content.
What is the minimum quantity for purchase? +
Due to the high material value, we buy solid scrap and capacitors starting at around 10–20 kg. For high-purity powders or rare alloy sections, we also analyze smaller quantities.
How long does the material analysis and settlement take? +
A fast XRF screening of solid scrap is done on the day of delivery. A more involved wet-chemical digestion (ICP-OES) of inhomogeneous sludges, powders, or alloys typically takes 3 to 5 business days.

About Us

SYPRA METALS — Strategic Metals Buyer Europe

Since 1990, SYPRA GmbH has been an internationally active trading company focused on Europe, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia. SYPRA METALS brings together the group's expertise in B2B buying, instrumental analysis, and the valuation of strategic metals — tantalum, tungsten, cobalt, niobium, hafnium, gallium, indium, and other special metals in any supply form.

01

Who We Are

Our success is built on reliable partnerships between Europe and Central Asia. Over three decades, SYPRA has built lasting relationships with producers, recycling companies, and industrial end users.

SYPRA METALS is the central platform for the professional buying of strategic metals: powders, turnings, sludges, capacitors, alloys, and complex industrial residues — valued by real metal content, not flat scrap prices.

02

Recycling Instead of Downcycling — Preserving the Value of Raw Materials

Primary raw materials are finite. Through professional recycling, we recover high-quality secondary raw materials and reduce the need for energy-intensive primary extraction.

Our standard is high-quality recycling: through careful sorting, analysis, and processing, metals are reintroduced into industrial production processes — with as little quality loss as possible.

03

Our Mission — Responsibility in the Raw Materials Cycle

Recycling strategic metals is today a decisive contribution to climate protection, human rights, and biodiversity. We close material cycles for European industrial companies.

01

CO₂ Reduction Through Recycling

Increased recycling reduces the need for newly extracted raw materials and cuts back on energy-intensive mining and production processes.

02

Less Child Labor Through Lower Raw Material Demand

More recycling reduces demand for new mining and can thereby indirectly help prevent child labor in hazardous mines.

03

Protecting Rainforests and Endangered Species

Sustainable raw material extraction, recycling, and stricter environmental standards help protect biodiversity and habitats.
